Rapid advances of bio-science and technology have made outstanding progress of clinical laboratory medicine in recent years.

In 1977, the Department of Medical Technology has been organized to correspond to the changing circumstances in medical laboratory sciences. The aim of curriculum in this Department is to educate and prepare highly disciplined medical technologists who can meet the expectation of modern medicine in four-year course.

In the first two years, students mainly take the general education in humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and foreign languages as well as in health promotion and sports activity, along with some of the specialized professional education, the most part of which are scheduled in the third year. In the last year, students take a graduation research program in our facility, as well as a clinical training program at Nagoya University Hospital on the Tsurumai Campus.

All graduates are eligible to take the national examination for a registered medical technologist.
